Donations instead of presents
New Year’s and Christmas holidays are the happiest part of the year for many of us when we share time and presents with our loved ones. Among us, there are those who lack something that is the most valuable, which we may not appreciate enough, and that is health. UniCredit Bank has decided that money intended for the purchase of New Year’s presents is donated to those who need it most.
We divided the Financial support in the total amount of 16,500 Euros into three parts and thus supported the University Children’s Clinic, the National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer, NURDOR, and BelHospice.
In addition, as a small sign of attention, the clients were given symbolic gifts, hand-made soaps from the family company Safi from Novi Sad and handmade wooden cubes from the Šumarko workshop in Valjevo. These products are one of the winners of the Idea for Better Tomorrow competition, which UniCredit Bank has been implementing since 2012 with the aim of contributing to the development of social entrepreneurship in Serbia. So far, 23 ideas have been supported by the non-refundable funds in the total amount of 140,000 Euros.
When talking about socially responsible activities, 2017 is one of the most successful years since UniCredit Bank has been operating in the Serbian market and the decision to donate funds for New Year holidays is actually the crown of the entire engagement. The Bank is very dedicated to the development of local communities at various levels and has implemented a whole series of activities aimed at improving living conditions. Most importantly, almost 50% of the employees participated in these activities.
