Sebastijan Šik was born on July 24th, 1973 in Slovenia. He finished his Bachelors in Political Science and International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana in Slovenija. His MBA in International Business, he finished at MIB School of Management Trieste in Italy. He started his career as a journalist at Radio Koper (RTVS), where he worked from 1998 till 2003. While he was there, he worked as a reporter, editor for topics on Slovenia’s accession to EU and as a project manager of “The European Arena“- radio broadcast for young students co-financed by EU’s Interreg Slovenia-Italy programme. From 2003 till 2007 he worked as a correspondent from Rome for RTV Slovenia. During that time he prepared reports on politics, economy, culture, sports and other areas of Italian society. He also reported on the events at the Vatican and the Holy See and Slovenian representatives in Italy.
From 2007 till today he works at the Luka Koper d.d. – Port of Koper as a advertising and public relations department manager. During his time there, company has won many local and international awards and recognitions: two times (2010 and 2011) finalists of ESPO (European Sea Ports Organization) Award on corporate social responsibility, High Commendation on corporate social responsibility at Containeristion International Award (2012), NETKO award for corporate communication (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia). Besides slovenian, Sebastijan is certified speaker of Italian, fluent in English and French and has basic knowledge of German.
