Biljana Stepanović is the founder and general manager of Business Info Group, a media company that publishes the monthly magazine Nova ekonomija and several annual specialized editions, has a business portal www.novaekonomija.rs, organizes domestic and international B2B conferences and conducts media trainings for companies, organizations and institutions. She was the director of the Economist Media Group at the time when this was the leading economics media house in Serbia. She founded and managed the monthly magazine “Bankar” within the same group. She is the founder and author of the economic show “Buđelar”, which was broadcast for five years on TV B92, then the show “Economy 3” on TV Vojvodina and “Economy and Me” on RTS. She was an economics editor on television, radio, and web portal B 92. She was a columnist for the daily newspaper Danas and a long-term correspondent of Radio Free Europe in Serbia (RFE). She worked as an economic journalist in the weekly NIN. She started her career in the daily newspaper Borba in 1987 as a student, at the time when that newspaper was declared the newspaper of the year of the former Yugoslavia. Together with the majority of journalists, she participated in the founding of the daily newspaper Naša Borba. She is the author of the Handbook for Economic Journalists with the support of the OSCE and is a certified OSCE lecturer in the field of communications, public speaking, and relations with the media. In cooperation with the OSCE and the British Council, she is the author of several online courses on economic journalism and media relations. She is the author of the Basics of Economic Journalism online course for the Thompson Foundation. She is a member of the Management Board of the Media Association of Serbia. She graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade, majoring in journalism. She has been engaged in economic journalism since the beginning of her career.
