Peter N. Thier
Senior Director Corporate Communications at Austrian Airlines
Peter N. Thier has longstanding experience as a PR manager. He began his career as an economic journalist at Austria Press Agency and Der Standard. In 1998, he moved to the Bank Austria Creditanstalt Gruppe. He became the press spokesperson at Creditanstalt in 2001, and in 2004, after developing the communications department of the Bulgarian company Biochim, press spokesperson of Bank Austria. He moved to Erste Bank der oesterreichischen Sparkassen in 2007, where he was responsible for internal and external communications. 2015 he became Head of Communications at Austrian Airlines. Thier has wide-ranging experience in dealing with the communications needs of change projects (‘change management’). The publishing and communications scientist, who is a graduate of the University of Vienna, has twice been awarded the title of best press spokesperson in Austria by specialist medium Der Journalist und Industriemagazin. The native of Vienna with Bulgarian roots has been on the Executive Board of the Public Relations Verband Austria (PRVA) between 2009 and 2015.
